Five Gas Stations Pay NJ More Than $138,000 For Overcharging Customers
Five North Jersey gas stations overcharged customers -- including claiming that regular gas was premium -- state authorities said Monday.
In a settlement aimed at protecting consumers, Sukhdev Singh and his stations in Newark and Belleville will pay the state more than $138,000 collectively, and promised not to do it again, under an agreement that kept formal charges from being filed, Acting New Jersey Attorney General Andrew J. Bruck said.
Bruck identified the stations as:
KP Fuel, 864 Mt. Prospect Ave, Newark;
BK Fuel, 108 Bloomfield Ave, Newark;
Millennium Fuel, 113-119 Franklin Street…
Pair Of $1 Million Lottery Tickets Sold In NJ
Two lottery tickets each worth $1 million were sold in New Jersey.
One ticket was from a Powerball drawing and the other was from a Mega Millions drawing.
The winning numbers from Saturday's Powerball drawing were 05, 36, 39, 45, and 57. The Red Power Ball number was 11 and the Power Play was 2X.
The winning Powerball ticket was purchased from Raceway #2117, 60 Raritan Ave., Highland Park in Middlesex County.

Police: Route 17 Driver Had Collection Of Pot, Mushrooms, Oxy, More For Sale
A Maywood police officer stopped a drug market on wheels on Route 17 and arrested the driver, authorities said.
Officer Michael McMahon stopped Vittorio Rizzo, 42, of Belleville on the northbound highway for a variety of motor vehicle violations on Saturday, Police Chief Terence Kenny said.
McMahon summoned Detective Christopher Nichols and his K-9 partner, Ryker, who detected drugs in the vehicle, Kenny said.
A subsequent search turned up more than 14 pounds of marijuana, one pound of hallucinogenic mushrooms, Oxycontin and Adderall for sale, along with drug packaging materials …

A Newark drug dealer caught with a gun was sentenced to five years in federal prison, authorities said.
Ricky Terrell, 24, was one of several dealers targeted for running an open-air drug market – slinging heroin, fentanyl, cocaine and more -- at the Stephen Crane Village public housing complex near the Belleville border, Acting U.S. Attorney Rachael A. Honig said.
Several law enforcement agencies teamed up to smash the operation, making undercover buys and intercepting phone calls and text messages, among other tactics, she said.
