Mugshot Released, Services Set For Popular Cook After Deadly Bergen County Hit-Run
The mugshot of the 29-year-old Kearny charged in the deadly hit-and-run that killed a cook at a popular Route 17 restaurant last week in Lyndhurst has been released. Steven G. Novillo-Cabrera was behind the wheel of a 2020 Honda Civic when he struck George Arnold, 57, as he was trying to cross Ridge Road at Milton Avenue around 9:50 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 10, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. DWI Florida Driver Sends Car Into 'Shades Of Death Row' Ditch, Passenger Airlifted
A 26-year-old man was airlifted to an area hospital with serious injuries after a drunk driver lost control of the vehicle and drove into a ditch in Warren County, State Police said. Manuel Castillo Romas, 45, of Clewiston, Florida, was driving a Ford Explorer on Shades of Death Road in Liberty Township when he lost control and drove into a ditch shortly before 8:15 p.m. Sunday, New Jersey State Trooper Alejandro Goez told Daily Voice. His passenger was flown to Morristown Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries and was last listed in stable condition, Goez said. …

Driver Taken Into Custody After Pulling Into Ridgewood Driveway
Ridgewood police took a driver into custody Wednesday afternoon -- apparently for being under the influence -- after she drove into a resident's driveway. A flatbed tow truck removed the four-door Ford Fusion from the Maltbie Avenue driveway to take it to an impound lot after the owner said it hit his car from behind. Midland Park police assisted Ridgewood officers with the investigation and arrest. It was unclear whether the homeowner and driver know one another. Boyd A. Loving contributed to this article.
