PalPark Burglary Cracked With Arrest Of Uber Robber's Accused Getaway Driver
A Garfield man who was charged last week in the knifepoint robbery of an Uber passenger had also been busted for a burglary in Palisades Park, authorities confirmed. Allen Ernst, 28, and an accomplice bolted from a Palisades Park home when a resident who lives there returned around 4:30 p.m. July 14, said Capt. Anthony Espino, the officer in charge of the department. The pair – who apparently entered through an unlocked sliding rear door -- dropped a pillowcase full of valuables as they fled, the captain said. : Pizzeria Employee Gets His Stolen E-Bike Back Thanks To Palisades Park PD
Palisades Park pizzeria employee Jose Romero thought he’d never seen his electric bicycle again after he let a prospective buyer take a test drive. Then borough police got involved. Romero, who works at Johnny’s Pizzeria on Bergen Boulevard, was contacted by Samuel Pena-Garcia, 30, of Guttenberg soon after posting a Facebook Marketplace ad, Detective Alex Monteleone said. Pena-Garcia asked to try it out before buying the bike for $1,299, Monteleone said. He never returned, the detective said. Body Pulled From Hackensack River ID'd As Missing Palisades Park Man
UPDATE: For days, a Palisades Park detective searched in vain for a troubled borough man whose worried wife had reported him missing. Detective Alex Monteleone sent alerts to local law enforcement agencies, asked Port Authority and Palisades Interstate Parkway police to keep a lookout and called area hospitals.
