Singleton, 30, is in his seventh year of training with coach Aidan Walsh of Racefaster in Ridgewood. He plans on running his sixth marathon — the Chicago Marathon — in October (SEE: Mahwah Marathonner Finishes For Family).
With little training, the runner finished his first marathon — the NYC Marathon — in three hours and eight seconds in 2009.
"I wouldn't be where I am today without all the support of all my friends, family and coach that believes in me and has faith in me," Singleton told Daily Voice. "It takes a lot of hard work no one will run for you, it takes a lot of dedication and commitment.
I'm just not fulfilling my dream but I also want to honor my parents."
