Apple Recognizes Ramsey Schools For Innovative Learning

RAMSEY, N.J. -- Apple has applauded the Ramsey School district for providing an outstanding learning environment in a changing world.

The Ramsey School District has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished Program for 2016 - 2018 for its 21st Century Learning Initiative.

The district was sanctioned as being part of the Apple Distinguished Program for 2016-18.

Ramsey's 21st Century Learning Initiative aims to successfully prepare students for a complex and changing global and technological society. 

The Apple Distinguished Program designation is reserved for programs that meet criteria for: 

  • innovation 
  • leadership 
  • educational excellence
  • vision of exemplary learning environments. 

"We are very proud of the effort that our teachers, supervisors and administrators have given to create a dynamic and innovative learning environment that gives students access to resources, expertise, and authentic experiences that transcend the four walls of the classroom through technology," said Richard Wiener, Director of Curriculum. 

The district has demonstrated success in creating a learning environment that both engages students and provides tangible evidence of academic accomplishment. 

iPad and other technology applications have enhanced the district's effort to foster its educational vision, which emphasizes: 

  • complex problem-solving
  • real-world applications
  • creativity and innovation
  • deep conceptual understanding of content
  • social responsibility.

The Ramsey School District is a Pre-K-12 public school that serves the communities of Ramsey and Saddle River.
