Ramsey Clerk's Office Open Late For Voter Registration

RAMSEY, N.J. -- The Ramsey Borough Clerk's office will remain open until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 17, for voter registration, including address changes. This is the last day to register, in order to vote in the June primary election.

Voter registration continues -- but the deadline is May 17.

The office is otherwise open Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

If you have recently moved to Ramsey from another town in Bergen County, or you moved within the borough to a new address, that requires a change of address. If you've moved from another state or from outside Bergen County, that requires a new voter registration.

You can pre-print and fill out a registration form here, or you can complete a form in the clerk's office. You can mail it, but that risks missing the deadline -- so the clerk's office recommends hand-delivering it at this point.

New Jersey is a closed primary state, which means you can only vote for the party you're registered for, unless you're registered as "unaffiliated." The deadline for switching your party affiliation has already passed: it was April 13.

The primary election is Tuesday, June 7. Polls will be open from 6 a.m. until 8 p.m. You'll receive a sample ballot in the mail about a week before the election, which will indicate your polling location.

If you have any questions or would like to confirm your current voter registration, call 201-825-3400, ext. 221.
