Authorities were looking for a a newer-model silver-colored Kia Sorento or possibly a Nissan Rogue, Police Chief James Batelli told CLIFFVIEW PILOT this morning.

WATCH:

A witness reported seeing the getaway car heading north on Island Road with the female accomplice behind the wheel and the robber possibly in the rear hatch section following the 12:14 a.m. holdup at the BP gas station on northbound Route 17, Batelli said.

The attendant described the robber as white, 20-25 years old, about 5-foot-7, with a thick build.

He was wearing a white hoodie pulled over his head, sunglasses, blue jeans, white snakers and the trench coat. The images show him carrying the rifle.

“Give me the money or I’ll shoot,” the attendant told police the robber said.

The bandit then ran toward Moffat Road, where his accomplice apparently was waiting, he said.

Two witnesses corroborated the account, Batelli said.

Anyone with information that could help the investigation is asked to contact the Mahwah Police Detective Bureau: (201)529-1000 ext. 218.
