The attendant at the Exxon on the Run summoned police around 5:20, Ramsey Police Chief Bryan Gurney said.

The attendant said the robber pulled into the station on Route 17 north in a two-door black Jeep Wrangled with a partially obscured New Jersey rear license plate and possibly a soft top.

The driver got out, picked up a quarer of Mobil Special 10W-30 in a blue container and headed back to his vehicle, the attendant said. He said the robber then compared it to an apparently empty container he already had in the vehicle and tossed both inside it before pulling out a $10 bill.

As he was making change, the attendant said, the motorist grabbed the money roll he was holding. Both struggled until the robber kicked him in the testicles, he said.

The white bandit, who was wearing a dark jacket and jeans, then got into the Jeep and took off, the chief said.

Gurney said the attendant didn’t require medical treatment afterward.

He asked that anyone with any additional information about the robbery call his department: (201) 327-2400.
