Route 287 Delays Continue From Gas Leak Across Mahwah Border

MAHWAH, N.J. -- Delays of up to a half hour were still being reported on Route 287 in Mahwah on Thursday morning, more than 10 hours after a construction crew struck and ruptured a gas main in Hillburn.

The exit ramp to the northbound New York Thruway at the New Jersey western split at I-87/I-287 was also closed.

The southbound highway was shut down entirely after the 11:40 p.m. incident Wednesday.
