The father of two from New City worked with Northern Tree Service of Stony Point servicing the Peach Hill Townhouse Community when the mishap occurred, Ramsey Police Chief Bryan Gurney said.

Members of the Ramsey Police Department and Ramsey Ambulance Corps administered first aid for upper body and head injuries, Gurney said.

Salazar was then taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Suffern, where he was pronounced dead just after 3:30 p.m., he said.

The Bergen County Sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation and representatives of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration responded, as well, the chief said.

Although the matter remained under investigation, Gurney said Tuesday that "there don't appear to be any criminal charges" involved.
