Ramapo College student banned from campus after alleged sex assault

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: A 19-year–old Ramapo College student who reported being sexually assaulted overnight wasn’t pursuing charges, but school authorities have banned the alleged assailant from campus, Mahwah Police Chief James Batelli said tonight.

The woman told investigators from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and township police at The Valley Hospital that the fellow student sexually assaulted her in the Overlook dorm, Batelli said.

He was banned by college officials “pending further action,” the chief said.
