John Gallaher, 50, was arraigned Thursday afternoon in Municipal Court on a complaint charging him with causing serious bodily injury while driving suspended. He also was issued summonses for reckless driving and driving while suspended.
Gallagher's 2004 Ford Explorer struck Samuel Barbagallo as he backed from the space on Tulip Tree Court just after 3 p.m. Wednesday, Grewal said.
Barbagallo "suffered serious injuries and was transported from the scene via ambulance to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center," the prosecutor said.
Gallagher, who was driving with a suspended New York driver’s license, remained at the scene and cooperated with the ensuing police investigation, he said.
