Pickup crashes, spills trailer contents on Route 287 in Mahwah

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: A pickup traveling north on Route 287 in Mahwah disconnected from its trailer, which then struck a guardrail and burst open, spilling its contents onto the highway.

Both lanes were blocked with debris, forcing traffic onto the right shoulder, following the 4:15 crash.

Mahwah and New Jersey State police responded.

No injuries were immediately reported.

Traffic was backed up for several miles.
