Alex Beltransaracay, 32, posted $5,000 bail and was released from the Bergen County Jail on Tuesday pending a Municipal Court hearing on a charge of receiving stolen property.

A day earlier, Ramsey police issued an alert after a resident reported seeing a man steal a package from his front porch.

Soon after, Paramus Police Captain Anthony Savastano spotted and stopped a four-door, blue 2006 BMW matching the getaway vehicle’s description on southbound Route 17 near the Garden State Parkway, Paramus Police Chief Kenneth Ehrenberg said.

Inside the car were several delivery boxes — including one from the original theft call, the chief said.

The car was impounded and Beltransaracay, an Ecuadoran immigrant, was arrested.
