Out cold: head on wheel, foot on gas

YOU READ IT HERE FIRST: Averting would could have been a disaster, Wyckoff police found a 19-year-old woman passed out in her car, head on the blaring horn and foot on the gas pedal. In her hand, they said, were syringes. On the front seat: a bottle of King Cobra beer.

They also found heroin and alcohol in the Toyota Scion, Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox said.

Alarmed by the horn and loud, revving engine, citizens summoned police at 10:15 Tuesday night, Fox said.

Jaclyn E. Coolong of Mahwah was later released without bail to a friend, pending a Municipal Court date on charges of driving while intoxicated, possession of alcohol while being underage, possession of heroin, possession of hypodermic needles, being under the influence of narcotics, and possession of narcotics in a motor vehicle, the chief said.
