NJ Transit police issue summonses to two drivers after train clips van in Ramsey

YOU SAW IT HERE FIRST: NJ Transit police issued summonses today to a Mahwah woman whose car was clipped by a passenger train in Ramsey this morning, as well as another driver who they said contributed to the crash.

Both Nora McNulty, whose 2013 Honda CRV was hit,  and 49-year-old Thomas Brannan, who was driving a 2012 Jeep, were charged with careless driving, NJT spokesman William Smith told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

Ramsey man whothey said Our investigation has resulted in 2 drivers receiving summonses for careless driving:

No injuries were reported after the CRV went past downed railroad gates at the Goertzen Plaza crossing and was struck by the Hoboken-bound 1160 carrying 25 commuters around 8:50 a.m,, Smith said.

Service disruptions were initially reported in both directions while NJ Transit Police investigated, but full service was quickly restored.
