Working with the local postal inspector, officers found Jeffrey Stepp, 53, in his truck on Meadow Lake Drive in the Fardale section and took him into custody, Police Chief James N. Batelli said.
The inspector earlier told them that he’d been “notified that one of their on-duty postal workers may be intoxicated,” Batelli said.
After roadside sobriety test and interview, Stepp was taken to headquarters, processed and released to a responsible adult pending a court hearing on DWI charges, the chief said.
The inspector then had a postal employee drive the mail-loaded truck.
