Mahwah couple nabbed in Rockland crack, cocaine sting

A Mahwah couple were among 22 people indicted in Rockland County in connection with a network of crack and cocaine dealers there and in Bergen County, following an undercover sting dubbed “Operation Say No More.”

Leonardo Powell, who has a criminal record in Bergen County, is charged with conspiracy, and 52-year-old Gloria Ball with drug possession, Rockland District Attorney Thomas P. Zugibe said in a release. The Oak Road couple are the only Bergen County residents named in the indictment.

At the top of the chain, Zugibe said, was Elam Yisrael, 38, of Jersey City, and his brother, 37-year-old Enaim Yisrael of New York.

Several defendants are from Spring Valley. Their indictment and arrests followed a six-month undercover operation.
