In particular, he cited the team’s arrival at the stadium three hours and 15 minutes before kickoff, which he said left players too much free time to just “hang around and relax.”
“It’s one of the reasons why you don’t have a massage before a game,” Rolle told Evan Roberts and Joe Beningo on WFAN radio. “It relaxes you too much.”
Rolle went on to say: “It’s not always the players’ fault. Sometimes you have to look behind the scenes.
“This organization controls everything,“ he said.

The Giants upgraded their defense — and, in doing so, hoped to bring more swagger to the team — by signing Rolle to a five-year, $37 million contract after he was let go by the Arizona Cardinals. He’s been outspoken since he arrived, and has a weekly spot booked on the midday radio show, neither of which was expected to make Coach Tom Coughlin happy.
Rolle said he couldn’t speak for his teammates, whom he called “warriors,” but that he personally had too much down time, leaving him less than charged up for the game.
Rolle laid that at the feet of the Giants brain trust.
