Fairview police teamed up with federal Homeland Security agents and detectives from the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office to arrest 49-year-old Antonio Miguel Ramirez Lima and another illegal Mexican immigrant, Edelia Osorio-Martinez, 30, of Astoria, Queens.

Federal agents took custody of Osorio-Martinez and a customer whose name turned up in a warrant check.

Ramirez Lima, meanwhile, was being held on $25,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail, charged with promoting prostitution and eluding police. ICE also issued a detainer on him.

Today’s raid on Cliff Street comes after one last week on a Bergen Boulevard massage parlor where authorities said employees were selling sex, Fairview Police Capt. Martin Kahn told CLIFFVIEW PILOT.

The raids, employing undercover police officers posing as customers, are part of an escalating effort by local, county and federal authorities to curb prostitution as a tool in fighting human trafficking, Kahn said.

Both followed citizen complaints, he said.

Lima “took off when we hit the door,” the captain said. “He had a camera set up outside the building and headed for the basement when he saw us coming.”
