Anthony McDonald
Officer Christopher Fasulo was alone when he stopped the U-Haul box truck on Ramapo Valley Road near North Ramapo Avenue just before 3 a.m. after the driver ignored a traffic signal, Capt. Steve Jaffe said.
Fasulo ran a check and discovered that 41-year-old Scott McDonald was on the suspended list, Jaffe said. After getting McDonald’s consent to search the truck, the officer found a Kel-Tec .380 caliber pistol and a 10mm caliber Glock handgun, both loaded, the captain said.
According to Jaffe, the guns and .45-caliber, hollow-point bullets, found along with .25-caliber ammo, belonged to passenger Anthony McDonald, 35, of Brooklyn. Records show he has been to prison twice — for robbery and drug dealing.
Police filed a host of charges against Anthony McDonald, including illegal weapons possession, illegal ammunition possession and being a convicted felon illegally possessing firearms.
He is being held on $100,000 bail at the Bergen County Jail.
The other McDonald was released after receiving summonses for driving while on the suspended list, careless driving and ignoring a traffic signal.
