Luigi M.F. Negri, 85, Of Mahwah

MAHWAH, N.J. -- Luigi M.F. Negri, died Sunday, Dec. 27, at his home in Mahwah. He was 85. 

Born in Torino, Italy, he lived in Ridgewood and Franklin Lakes before moving to Mahwah in 1985. 

He received his medical degree from Università di Firenze (Florence, Italy) in 1955 before coming to the United States for his medical training at Bergen Pines in Paramus and Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. 

He went on to practice medicine at a number of hospitals in New York City, and spent the latter half of his career as a corporate physician at American Cyanamid in Wayne, N.J. 

He is survived by his wife Milka, his daughter Maria Giacino and her husband Joseph of Acton, Mass, his son Federico Negri and his wife Victoria of Brooklyn, N.Y., and his six grandchildren, Michael, Matthew, Juliana, Christopher, Francesca and Sofia. He also is survived by his ex-wife Bernardina Negri of Acton, Mass. and his brother Ettore Negri of Florence, Italy. 

A memorial service will be held for family and close friends at 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 2, at the Vander Plaat Funeral Home, 257 Godwin Ave., Wyckoff. For more information, click here.
