The council was slated to vote on the ordinance that would ban the use of firearms at shooting ranges Wednesday, according to the story. The ordinance would revise one currently on the books that prohibits the firing of “any pistol, shotgun, rifle or other type of firearms anywhere in the borough,” but exempts indoor and outdoor firing ranges.
Borough Attorney Peter Scandariato told NorthJersey.com that it was tabled to allow time for him and a law firm assisting the borough on a pro bono basis to look into recent Second Amendment cases and possibly revise the ordinance, the story says. An application for a 60,000 square-foot gun range is currently pending before the planning board.
