Laforet was joined by Assemblywoman Holly Schpesi, Assemblyman Tim Eustace, other representatives from Ramsey, Paramus, Rochelle Park, Ridgewood and Hackensack, Councilman John Roth, Councilman Steve Sbarra, and Councilman Rob Hermansen.
The group met with the FAA and the Teterboro Noise Abatement Committee because the proposed changes will include increased flights over Mahwah.
According to the statement released by Laforet, the other officials only were aware of the meeting because of his initiative to contact them.
Laforet said the group's concerns 'fell on deaf ears,' and the FAA continues to ignore them.
“We are not done,” he added at the statement's end.
Local residents are advised to contact the FAA at 9-Abada-noise@faa.gov to register their concern about the proposed new plan.
