Jen Lessieu, Nick Capuano, Greg Laurite and Dave Marchisin cited lack of transparency from Mayor Deirdre Dillon and Ramsey Council on an ongoing project to build a $2 million senior center on utility grounds as reason for leaving.
In a letter to Ramsey Mayor and Council, Lessieu accused borough administrators of undermining the authority of the commission and ignoring the requirements of the law.
Daily Voice placed an email to Mayor Deirdre Dillon on Tuesday evening.
Lessieu — who was awarded Ramsey Pool Outstanding Volunteer of the Year in 2015 — suggested in the letter that Mayor and Council are refusing to pursue studies on certain issues before their advancement of building a senior center on pool grounds.
"I am registered as the New Jersey government official responsible for that piece of property, and [Mayor and Council] are refusing to go to the Department of Environmental Protection for input," Lessieu told Daily Voice.
"I don't want my name attached to property if they're not going to follow state mandated laws."
Planning board member Deirdre Woodbyrne resigned last week for similar reasons, she said.
More than 378 signatures have been collected on a petition for Ramsey officials to reconsider the construction of the senior center.
Lessieu says the environmental commission sent a report to Ramsey officials, which was never delivered. Two residents wrote letters of opposition, which were not recorded in the the minutes, she said.
