They've watched the 15-year-old aspiring Broadway star sing her heart out in dozens of performances and are happy to hear her practicing from her room or in the car.

But things have been quiet in the Goffredo household since mid-May when Sara suffered a brain injury.

And now, the Goffredo's are supporting their star from the side of her hospital bed.

More than $58,000 had been raised as of Thursday evening on a GoFundMe campaign for Goffredo.

She had just returned from a shopping trip with her mother when she began experiencing breathing problems, campaign creator Eddie Miller said.

Her mother called 911 at once but her conditioned continued to worsen, and Goffredo went into cardiac arrest as she was being transported into the ambulance, Miller said.

The teen suffered oxygen loss to the brain, and community members and loved ones alike are rallying for her.

"So sorry to hear this news, often remember happy times at the pool," Caroline Vierling wrote along with her donation on Thursday. "Praying for you all at this time."
