Ramapo College in Mahwah has a program to help.
The College’s Krame Center for Contemplative Studies and Mindful Living is hosting an eight-week course called Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction. The class will focus on methods of mindfulness and relaxation training.
“Published research has shown that this type of training can be an important adjunct in the treatment of a variety of health issues as well as a powerful way of reducing stress and pain while enhancing the ability to concentrate, focusing one’s attention in the present moment, and finding balance, ease and peace of mind,” states a press release announcing the program.
The Krame Center is hosting a free orientation to the class on Saturday, Jan. 7, at 9:30 a.m. at the Anisfield School of Business at Ramapo College.
The class itself is scheduled for Saturdays from Jan. 14, through March 18, from 9:30 a.m. to noon, and will not be held on Jan. 28 or Feb. 25. It also features a retreat on Sunday, Feb. 26 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
