Help Give Oakland Parks A Facelift With Spring Cleanup

OAKLAND, N.J. -- Come show your green thumb this Saturday as the Oakland Environmental Commission is hosting a town clean-up for city parks.

Volunteers of all ages are welcome, however children must be accompanied by an adult. Please wear long sleeves/pants, sturdy shoes, gloves and bug spray. All helpers will be assigned and accompanied to a specific park clean up area.

"This is just another great example of the pride and the sense of community that the residents of Oakland have," said Chopper Russo of Chopper Russo Real Estate group who will be helping with the clean-up. "It's a tremendous situation when so many people come together Oakland is blessed to have so many natural resources and gorgeous park."

The clean up will be held on April 23 -- rain date April 24 --  from 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Volunteers should meet at the Valley Middle School, where morning refreshments will be available. After clean up, lunch will be hosted at Great Oak Park. 

The event organized by the Oakland Environmental Commission and sponsored by the Clean Communities Grant and The Oakland Public Events Committee.
