RAMSEY, N.J. -- The Ramsey Farmers' Market will be hosting its first Garlic Festival on Sunday, Oct. 9, and visitors will find a host of garlic-centric items, as well as special guest garlic farmer, Rocks and Roots.
Items on offer will include garlic hummus, garlic pizza, garlic breads, garlic powders, garlic beef jerky, handcrafted pottery garlic graters, garlic braids and much more.
Rocks and Roots is a farm in Warnerville, N.Y., which focuses exclusively on garlic -- including artisanal black garlic -- and honey. For more information, here are its website, Facebook page, and Instagram.
The Ramsey Farmers' Market offers fresh, seasonal produce and products, including organic and responsibly grown vegetables and fruits, artisan breads and fine cheeses, fresh fish from the Hampton Bays. Offerings also include gourmet olive oils and balsamic vinegar, homemade jams and jellies, local wine, made-on-site guacamole, pickles, alpaca wear, free-range eggs, free trade coffee and tea, and many more items.
The outdoor market continues every Sunday through November, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Erie Plaza train station on Main Street in Ramsey. From December through March, the market moves indoors, to the Eric Smith School, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
