SUV Hits Hawthorne House, Driver Hospitalized A driver was hospitalized with a leg injury after her SUV slammed into a house in Hawthorne. The Honda HR-V got the worst of the collision Sunday afternoon at the intersection of Hawthorne and Warburton avenues. Members of the Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps took the middle-aged driver to The Valley Hospital in Ridgewood. A flatbed tow truck removed the Honda. One Injured In Two-Car Hawthorne Crash One person was hospitalized after a two-vehicle crash during the morning rush in Hawthorne. A Volkwagen took down a street sign and hit a light pole Lafayette and Warburton avenues around 8:15 a.m. Both the VW and the Nissan were towed from the scene. Hawthorne police, DPW workers and Volunteer Ambulance Corps members responded, along with an ambulance from the Valley Hospital in Ridgewood.

Police Suspect DWI In Hawthorne Crash A collision in Hawthorne led to charges against one of the drivers, whom police suspected of driving under the influence. Borough police, firefighters and EMS responded to Tuesday's crash involving a Jeep and Volkswagen Jetta -- whose driver had to be extricated -- at the intersection of Goffel Road and Warburton Avenue. One driver was expected to be taken into custody for processing by police after being released from the hospital. At least one other occupant of one of the vehicles was hospitalized, as well. Photos: SUV Overturns In Hawthorne Crash Two vehicles collided on a Hawthorne street Tuesday afternoon, rolling one of them onto its roof. "Looks likes someone was going a little too fast," a witness from the area said. Hawthorne EMS attended to both drivers, each of whom refused hospitalization after the crash at the intersection of Forest and Warburton avenues. Firefighters from two Hawthorne companies responded, along with two flatbed towers, one of which righted the overturned SUV.
