Bomb Threat Clears Holy Name Medical Center
A bomb threat called into Holy Name Medical Center over the weekend was quickly deemed unfounded, authorities said. An unidentified caller reported a bomb threat to the hospital in Teaneck on Saturday, Aug. 17 around 4 p.m., Teaneck Police Chief Andrew R. McGurr said. "The threat was made by an unknown caller who provided non-specific details," said McGurr. The hospital was placed on divert, and a shelter-in-place order was implemented. FOR THE RECORD: A Teaneck woman remained hospitalized weeks after her husband ignited a gasoline-fueled fire that killed himself and another woman in their basement apartment. Ranjodh Singh IV, 35, “purposely set fire to himself in the basement apartment” shortly after midnight Feb. 19, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said last week. “As a result, the fire spread rapidly through the basement and trapped the other two occupants of the apartment,” Musella said. Hackensack firefighters caught two children tossed to them by their parents during an overnight apartment building blaze. Compactor Fire Clears Route 4 Mall
The Shops at Riverside off Route 4 in Hackensack was evacuated Tuesday as city firefighters doused a compactor blaze. Sprinklers temporarily kept the fire in check before firefighters took over on the Macy's loading dock beneath the parking garage shortly before 2 p.m. A DPW truck pulled the contractor out so they could extinguish the blaze. A 19-year-old Lodi man was charged Monday with killing a Cresskill woman whose 14-year-old daughter assisted in a bungled attempt to dispose of the body, authorities said. Nicolas Coirazza killed Divna Rosasco, 51, at her home in Cresskill and then got the girl to help him try to dump the body in Overpeck Creek in Teaneck, authorities said.
