Unlicensed Driver Caused Head-On Crash, Seriously Injured Victim In Bergen County: Prosecutor
A 24-year-old unlicensed driver has been charged in a head-on collision that left the other driver seriously injured this week in Bergen County, prosecutors said. Juan Alban Naranjo, of Elmwood Park, was heading west on Market Street in a 2008 Acura sedan when he crossed into the opposite lane of travel, hitting a 2007 Ford SUV head-on Monday, July 8, Bergen County Prosecutor Mark Musella said. A Union City motorist was charged with taking off after hitting a 71-year-old Jersey City pedestrian in the Heights nearly a month ago. A tour van operated by a company catering to Polish-Americans that picked up passengers in New Jersey crashed in Massachusetts Saturday, killing two people, State Police there said. Teen From Union Seriously Injured In I-78 Crash
A 17-year-old from Union suffered serious injuries in a car crash Saturday night, State Police spokesman Sgt. Jeff Flynn said. UPDATE: Daily Voice has learned he has died from his injuries. Anthony Steitz was driving eastbound on I-78 in Watchung around 11:30 p.m. when the sedan he was driving left the roadway and crashed into some trees. No other vehicles were involved, Flynn said.
