The Bound Brook Police Department is mourning the loss of its chief, Richard S. Colombaroni, a lifelong resident and pillar of the community whose leadership and dedication over a 40-year career left an enduring impact. Chief Colombaroni passed away following a battle with pancreatic cancer, the department announced Friday, Dec. 20. He was 62 years old. It's that time of the yea: Time to buy beach badges or plan where you'll spend your free time this summer. The 130 miles of Jersey Shore offers about 50 public beaches to choose from. Daily, weekly and seasonal beach badge and tag prices have been set for the 2023 season. The highest seasonal fee at $150 is in Deal. Tornados Leave Thousands Of NJ Residents Without Power For Days
Thousands of New Jersey residents remained without power on Monday, April 3, more than a day after the tornados that barreled through the region. According to JCP&L, 2,401 Ocean County residents were in the dark as of 10:50 a.m., most of them being in Jackson — where a tornado was confirmed by the National Weather Service. Cops Use ‘Find My iPhone’ To Nab Suspect Who Sped Off In Stolen Car During Morris County Stop
A suspect who fled from police in a stolen vehicle was later found with help from Apple’s “Find My iPhone” function. Justin Leuzarder, 39, was stopped for speeding on Route 10 in Denville around 4:25 a.m. on Sunday, August 14, police said. Leuzarder, of Morristown, sped away as the officer was heading back to his patrol vehicle, initiating a brief chase that was quickly terminated because his identity was already known, police said. NJ Woman Struck, Killed By DUI Arizona Football Player: Reports
New Jersey native Norah Bruther was struck and killed by an Arizona State University football player over the weekend, authorities said. Bruther, 23, of Sea Girt, was crossing Camelback Road in Scottsdale, AZ when she was struck by 22-year-old Sun Devil Stanley Kambert around 1 a.m. Saturday, Fox10 Phoenix reports. Bruther, a senior associate at Ernst and Young, was allegedly visiting Scottsdale at the time of the incident. Lambert is a redshirt senior and defensive lineman at ASU, according to the Sun Devils' roster. This is a developing story. Check back for more.

A Monmouth County physician is having his license suspended for three years for "inappropriate sexual contact" with a substance-abusing patient for whom he also prescribed addictive drugs, state authorities said. Rookie Officer Plows SUV Into Sea Girt Home
A rookie police officer avoided serious injury after slamming his SUV into a home and a trailer between in Sea Girt on Tuesday evening, authorities said. The 27-year-old Class II officer was on his way to a first aid call at Ocean Boulevard around 5:45 p.m., according to Monmouth County Prosecutor Lori Linskey. A New Jersey State Police recruit from Morris County died Tuesday after going unconscious during a training exercise last week. Lucas C. Homeijer, of Boonton, was participating in an active countermeasures boxing exercise with another classmate at the State Police academy in Sea Girt Borough when he went unconscious on Wednesday, Nov. 25, NJSP Superintendent Colonel Patrick J. Callahan said in a release.
