A brawl that broke out due to an ongoing dispute between students put Union Township High School on lockdown earlier this week, district officials said. Monday's fight broke out when one student was approached by others in the bathroom near the cafeteria, stopped momentarily, but picked up again near the attendance office, Superintendent Scott Taylor said in a letter to parents published by TapInto. School security called the main office, as school officials and security worked to break up the fight, Taylor said. "What we know is that this fight occurred among many of the same students who…

Third Bogus Threat Of Month Briefly Locks Down Hackensack High School
Another day, another unfounded threat at Hackensack High School rattles and annoys people. That makes three just this month alone -- all of which city police are investigating aggressively. Wednesday's lockdown ended quickly. No streets were closed nor injuries reported. "The school was checked by police personnel and the unspecified threat was deemed unfound…

Bogota police and school district officials moved quickly after a threat made by a student in Georgia was mistakenly thought to involve Bogota High School. Officials there took a 16-year-old boy into custody after they said he threatened on the AirDrop social media app to go on a school shooting spree. He had no intention of carrying out the threats, they said. Meanwhile, all was well in Bogota. “Our district takes all possible threats seriously an…
