Survivors Of Palisades Park Stabbing That Killed 2 Friends Warn Students About Sudden Violence
“I don’t want to die,” a mortally wounded Tommy Johnston told his friend Yang Chung after they and two other Palisades Park High School football players were stabbed on Broad Avenue the night before Labor Day 1992. Johnston, 17, had just been stabbed twice in the chest during a fight with two boys from Ridgefield Park. He died at the hospital. A sixth-grade girl was responsible for a “non-specific" threat found at a Palisades Park school on Thursday, authorities said. The Bergen County Prosecutor's Office was determining whether to sign a delinquency complaint against the youngster, while district officials considered what do on their end. Threat Scrawled On Palisades Park Jr/Sr High School Desk Prompts Response
An increased police presence at Palisades Park Junior/Senior High School on Tuesday will be among the measures taken after a "non-specific" threat was found scrawled on a desk. Students also will be able to enter the school only through the front doors, Schools Supt. Joseph Cirillo said Monday.
