Van Stolen Year Ago Out Of Jersey City Recovered, NYC Driver Busted By Lyndhurst Police Officer A van that was reported stolen out of Jersey City a year ago this week was recovered by a Lyndhurst police officer during a 4th of July traffic stop, authorities said. A license plate reader alerted Officer Michael Carrino, who made the stop on Orient Way at Valley Brook Avenue on Tuesday, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. Driver Kishon Moses, 24, of New York City told the officer he’d rented the van from someone and had no idea it had been stolen, the lieutenant said. Moses was arrested, charged with receiving stolen property and released.  The van was impounded.

Detective Chris Cuneo was on another investigation when he spotted a suspicious-looking Porsche Cayenne near a business on Orient Way and Rutherford Avenue this past Friday, Feb. 18, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. Cuneo ran a random license plate check and learned of the warrants out of Middletown and Atlantic Highlands, both in Monmouth County. Lyndhurst PD: Erratic Local Driver Nabbed With More Than 60 Heroin Folds, Crack A Lyndhurst police officer caught a local driver with more than 60 heroin folds, authorities said. Officer Michael Scalese spotted a Toyota Camry leaving the parking lot of a local business near the corner Orient Way and Rutherford Avenue in a “careless and erratic manner” shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Detective Lt. Vincent Auteri said. The officer then noticed an equipment violation on the Camry, whose driver couldn’t maintain a lane on Rutherford Avenue and then failed to stop before making a right on red at Polito Avenue, he said.
