Two Passaic residents and one from Wayne were charged with stabbing one of two city men during what authorities said was a planned attack. Being held in the Passaic County Jail pending initial court appearances this Wednesday in Superior Court in Paterson are Sergio Xochiulacuamatzi, 26, Christian Martinez, 21, both from Passaic, and Richard Arriaga, 25, of Wayne. : Clifton Prisoner Escapes From Passaic Hospital, Tracked Down By Sheriff's K-9
A fugitive who escaped from police custody on Friday was tracked down two hours later by a Passaic County Sheriff's K-9, authorities confirmed. The 30-something prisoner from Essex County had been involved in a minor motor vehicle crash on Brighton Road in Clifton around 11:30 a.m., responders told Daily Voice. He complained of back pain and was taken to St. Mary's General Hospital in Passaic, in custody, after officers found a warrant for his arrest, they said. An off-duty firefighter alerted residents to a gas-fed blaze that ravaged three homes Saturday morning in Passaic, displacing nearly three dozen people. More than 120 firefighters responded to the fierce four-alarm blaze, which roared across the multi-family dwellings on Oak Street after breaking out shortly after 8 a.m., responders said. Authorities: Shooting Victim Found During Passaic Traffic Stop Had Gun Of His Own
A Paterson man who was wounded during a shooting had a gun of his own in the trunk when Passaic police stopped his car on the way to the hospital, authorities said. A Passaic police officer stopped the speeding vehicle at Tulip and Oak streets after hearing gunshots before dawn near the corner of Main Avenue and Chestnut Street on Sept. 7. At Least Three Vehicle Thefts In Two Days; Clifton Police Nab Accused Thief
Clifton police nabbed a repeat offender in a minivan that he stole barely 24 hours after swiping two other vehicles, authorities said Friday. Officer Edward Welsh and Diorys Turbides stopped the Dodge minivan in the area of Lafayette Avenue and Oak Streeet in Passaic, Detective Lt. Robert Bracken said.
