Transformer, Live Wires Fall On Vehicle Sparking Blaze In Bergenfield
Firefighters in Bergenfield worked to put out a fire caused by high tension wires and transformers from a utility pole that had fallen on a vehicle Wednesday evening, Aug. 14. It happened on North Washington Avenue and West Church Street, where PSE&G was called to the scene to turn off the power. At the scene. Bergenfield Fire Department The occupants of the vehicle were able to escape before flames consumed the car. Firefighters knocked down the blaze, with help from a Teaneck ladder and engine company from Dumont.

Thanks to a quick-moving bank employee, a federal probationer accused last year of conning banks out of $500,000 was caught trying to cash $1,834 in bogus checks in Bergenfield, authorities said Friday. Officers responding to the Chase Bank on North Washington Avenue Thursday afternoon arrested 21-year-old Yaseen Salih, who also tried to use a debit card in someone else’s name, Detective Lt. BERGENFIELD, N.J. – A man arrested for causing a disturbance in a Bergenfield 7-Eleven before dawn Thursday punched an officer in the face, cutting his lip, authorities said. Darian Perry, 23, of Bergenfield threatened responding Officer James Acito and others in the North Washington Avenue store after police were called just after 4 a.m. about him “walking in and out of the business, causing a disturbance,” Capt.
