A member of an organized shoplifting crew that snatched more than $10,000 worth of merchandise from a Nordstrom in Paramus thought he could fool police by changing his clothes, authorities said. Fugitive Tied To Retail Theft Ring Captured By Glen Rock PD
An investigation by Glen Rock police into an organized shoplifting ring led to the arrest of a fugitive from New York State, authorities said. Miata Mitchell, 26, of Poughkeepsie is part of a group that targeted various borough merchants, Police Chief Dean Ackermann said. Detective Sgt. James Calaski and Sgt. The 24-year-old man who drowned at Lake Marburg at Codorus State Park on Saturday was identified as a local YouTuber. Ganga Gautam, of the 500 block of Harvest Drive, Dauphin County, accidentally drowned while using a camera underwater, according to the York County coroner. Gautam was on a pontoon boat with family when the group decided to go swimming-- everyone but Gautam returned to the boat. Home goods retailer Tuesday Morning is the latest national outlet to seek bankruptcy protection, company officials said. Tuesday Morning's closing is a result of the "immense strain of the COVID-19 pandemic," the Dallas-based retail chain said in a statement. Two Brooklyn men were captured and charged with four Kay Jewelers burglaries and one at Nordstrom in Paramus that netted more than $250,000 in valuables, ending a nine-month spree that authorities said stretched from Central Jersey to Albany.
