A pair of brothers who drowned in a Bayonne pool this week have been identified by NBC News. Jack Jiang, 16, and Chu Ming Zheng, 19, were in the deep end of a Lincoln Community School pool being monitored by three lifeguards when they were spotted in distress, local police said. The elder victim had just finished his freshman year at University of Miami, while the younger was heading into his senior year of high school. Food Deliveryman, 65, On Electric Bike Hospitalized In Hit-Run Hoboken Crash
A 65-year-old food deliveryman was struck by a vehicle while riding a bicycle Friday afternoon in Hoboken, authorities said. The New York man was on an electric bike when he was struck by the vehicle -- possibly a blue Acura with partial registration number 20070 -- at the intersection of Observer Highway and Jackson Street around 3:15 p.m., Hoboken Police Dt. Lt. Danilo Cabrera said. The striking vehicle fled the scene of the accident and it was reported leaving southbound out of Hoboken, Cabrera said. Worker Dies In Bayonne Industrial Accident
A worker died in an industrial accident over the weekend in Bayonne, authorities said. First responders found the man seriously injured at the eastern edge of the former Military Ocean Terminal at the Bayonne Dry Dock, around 9:10 a.m. Sunday, the City's emergency management office said. Medics from McCabe Ambulance and the Bayonne Fire Department performed CPR on the victim, who was transported to the Jersey City Medical Center. The unidentified worker later died of his injuries. An investigation is being led by the Port Authority Police Department.
