Bergen County Man's Assault On Palestinian-American Wasn't Bias Crime: Cops A 31-year-old Bergen County man was arrested for assaulting a Palestinian American who said he was called a terrorist in Jersey City on Monday, Nov. 27, authorities said. At 1:30 a.m., Mo Hamzeh said on his Instagram that he was waiting on an Uber outside Grove Station when a man asked him where he was from. Hamzeh said Baltimore, and then when the man persisted, Hamzeh said he told him he was Palestinian. Dad Killed Biking To 2nd Job In Jersey City: Family Guillermo Acevedo was biking to his second job in Jersey City when he was fatally struck by a vehicle on Saturday, Nov. 4, those who knew him said. At 4 p.m., Jersey City police responded to Marin Boulevard and 16th Street where a 2018 Hyundai Elantra collided with Acevedo, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.  The driver attempted to turn left at the intersection when the crash occurred, Wallace-Scalfione said. Rat Infestation Shuts Jersey City AMC Theater Now playing at the AMC Newport Centre: "Ratatouille." "Willard." "The Secret of the Nimh." The Jersey City movie theatre was ordered closed by a city inspector on Wednesday, Sept. 27 due to a rat infestation, Kimberly Wallace-Scalfione, a spokeswoman for the mayor's office said.   The theater owner was cited for the presence of rodents and multiple outer openings allowing a rodents entry source, Wallace-Scalfione said. The theater will owe a $100 inspection fee once all of the violations are abated and must be exterminated once per week going forward, Wallace-Scalfione said. …
