Driver Going 90 MPH Charged In Crash That Killed Pre-Med Student In NJ: Officials
Charges have been filed against a 41-year-old man who police say was going 90 mph before a crash that killed an 18-year-old pre-med student in Morris County, officials announced. Gerald Veneziano, of Bellville, had numerous open alcohol containers in the vicinity of his Chevrolet Silverado following the accident that killed 18-year-old Jacob Davis in Flanders Friday, May 31, Morris County Acting Prosecutor Maggie Calderwood said. A heart-stopping video posted by a Middlesex County police department shows an officer running out of his car to rescue a driver from a burning vehicle in a Thanksgiving Day crash. The 3-minute and 40-second dashcam tape shows Monroe Township officer Douglas Perrone jumping out of his vehicle to Pergola Avenue near Namsan Drive around 8:40 p.m., and running straight to the fully-engulfed Ford Fusion -- the driver trapped inside. : River Vale Driver, 86, Injures Pedestrian, 77, In Westwood Crash
WESTWOOD, N.J. -- (UPDATE) A 77-year-old Westwood woman remained in serious but stable condition Tuesday after being struck by a sedan driven by an 86-year-old River Vale woman, authorities said. The victim, who lives in a nearby senior citizens building, was struck by the green Chrysler Concorde just after 10 a.m. at Broadway and Irvington Street, Lt. Matthew McClutchy told Daily Voice.
