It's often an open-air drug market where young dealers sell to middle-aged users from the Silk City and beyond.
In one fell swoop, city detectives seized 1,194 heroin folds, a loaded 9mm Taurus G2C handgun with a defaced serial number and a high-capacity magazine and $4,491 in proceeds while rounding up 10 people on either side of the illegal commerce at the corner of Carroll and Governor streets.

A Paterson woman who was once charged with lacing children’s cereal with THC was busted with 1,647 illegal painkillers, a loaded gun and $112,788 in drug cash, authorities said.
City narcotics detectives watched as drugs were sold from a second-floor apartment on Butler Street near River Street in the city’s north end, Public Safety Director Jerry Speziale said.

A Fair Lawn man was jailed after a 2-year-old child swallowed illegal drugs at an apartment he shares with the toddler’s mother, authorities said Thursday.
Authorities had already charged his wife, Mariel DeVargas, 23, of Langan Court, before arresting Ramon Vargas, 48, on child endangerment charges.

Carlstadt PD: Officer Stops Driver Near Meadowlands With Coke, Xanax, Oxy, Pot, Cash
A Bronx food vendor had cocaine, Xanax, Oxycodone and pot in his car, along with $2,181 in suspicious cash, when a Carlstadt police officer stopped him near the Meadowlands, authorities said.
Officer Matthew Smith stopped the speeding vehicle after it drifted over the lane markers several times and driver Wilfredo A. Pacheco, 37, merged onto southbound Route 120 from Route 17 without properly signaling, Police Chief Thomas Berta said.
Smith “immediately detected an odor of marijuana” from inside the vehicle as he spoke with Pacheco, Berta said.
