ALERT: Authorities were searching for a hit-and-run driver who struck a 5-year-old boy in a Jersey City crosswalk, breaking the child's leg, before taking off. Multiple bystanders told police a red-colored vehicle headed north on Grand Street hit the boy when the driver turned left onto westbound Grove Street shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 2. A disgruntled customer denied last call at a bar in Jersey City got into an SUV and then backed it into employees, authorities said. A man defending Jersey City pizzeria employees from an abusive customer was hospitalized with a life-threatening stab wound to his abdomen, authorities said. The 25-year-old man got into an argument with 47-year-old Savark Dicupe at Stella’s on Grove Street over how Dicupe was treating employees around 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 1, city police said. The argument turned physical when Dicupe stabbed the victim with a pocket knife at the 24-hour pizzeria, authorities said. Jersey City Pizzeria Named 'Best In America' To Double In Size With Summer Expansion
A Jersey City pizzeria named among the best in America is getting even bigger. Razza Pizza will be expanding to the space next door to its current Grove Street location, doubling its capacity, NJ Advance Media reports. : Off-Duty Jersey City Officer Brutally Beaten By 10 Men
An off-duty Jersey City police officer was hospitalized after being beaten by a group of 10 men in a racially-motivated attack over the weekend, authorities said. The 42-year-old white officer was bleeding form his head and face when his colleagues were flagged down near Grove Street and Newark Avenue around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione said.
