52 Arrested In 'Elaborate' Cockfighting Ring In South Jersey: Police
More than 50 people were arrested after police broke up a large cockfighting ring in Atlantic County, authorities said. Galloway Township police executed a search warrant at a home on the 300 block of South Bremen Avenue on Saturday, Mar. 9, the department said in a news release. When officers arrived, a large group of people were there and many tried to run away before they were detained. Investigators found an "elaborate cockfighting operation" that included a fighting ring, seating for spectators, and several cockfighting kits. A new diner in Warren County went up in flames just hours before it was scheduled to have its soft opening, leaving the owner heartbroken and desperate to rebuild. NJ ShopRite Recalls Store-Made Ground Meat Due To Possible Metal Fragments
A New Jersey ShopRite store has recalled store-made ground meat made July Fourth weekend due to possible metal fragments. ShopRite of Greenwich, located on Route 22, issued a release regarding store-made packages of ground beef, Angus ground beef, meatloaf mix and ground pork with a sell-by date of July 2. No other products were affected by the recall, and no injuries related to the recall have been reported.
