Paterson was already reeling from three fatal shootings in a single day when a 23-year-old Riverdale man was killed and a 19-year-old Elmwood Park man was critically wounded Tuesday in a hail of gunfire at one of the city's deadliest street corners. A reputed member of a notorious Paterson street gang admitted in federal court in Newark on Wednesday that he sold fentanyl-laced heroin that killed a user. U.S. Marshals captured a reputed member of Paterson’s 1st Ward “Glock Boys” wanted for shooting a man last November as part of ongoing gang warfare in the Silk City. Paterson police took custody of Rashad A. McCaskill, 35, from federal authorities on Wednesday, authorities said Thursday. Federal marshals arrested him on Pearl Street in Manhattan’s Financial District on Jan. 8, they said. One Dead, Four Wounded In Paterson Shooting, Black Truck Sought
UPDATE: A 25-year-old Paterson man was killed and four other young men wounded overnight Thursday in an apparent drive-by shooting. Authorities were looking for a four-door black truck that sped down Jefferson Street following the shooting at the corner of North Main Street just after midnight. A reputed Paterson gang member who fled to Georgia amid a massive federal investigation of fatal drug trafficking shot and wounded a Belleville man in the city before he left, authorities revealed Wednesday.
