Prominent Bergen County Jazz Musician Danny Bacher Dies At 48 Danny Bacher, a renowned jazz musician and Cliffside Park resident, died at the age of 48, the Jazz Loft in Stony Brook announced. The cause was a heart attack, the Jazz Loft said. A native of Wayne, Bacher was a singer, saxophonist, dancer and composer, who was also an author- having recently published a book about his collection of Laurel and Hardy merchandise, the Jazz Loft said.  A graduate of Wayne Hills High School, Bacher attended New Jersey City University, according to his Facebook. Hackensack police responded to a report of a body found in the area of 20 Spring Valley Road, where the man's body was discovered behind bushes, Police Chief Michael Antista said. Paterson Man Killed By SUV Was Inspecting His Damaged Car After Minor Crash In NY: Nysp A man who was involved in a minor crash on the New York Thruway was killed when he stepped out of his vehicle to inspect the damage and was struck by a 2018 Ford SUV.  Saul Clark, 55, of Paterson, New Jersey, had gotten out of his vehicle in the southbound lanes of I-87 in West Nyack when he was struck by the passing SUV driven by a Nyack woman just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29, New York State Police Trooper Steven Nevel said. The crash involved a Toyota SUV and a Honda sedan around, Capt. Michael Antista said. Sometime around 9:15 p.m., a Toyota SUV and Honda sedan collided. One vehicle struck the curb, case, and light fixture on the property of Chit Chat Diner on Essex Street, Antista said. A 53-year-old Hackensack woman was hospitalized with pain, the captain said. One summons was issued due to a registration issue.

The first incident involved the teen at 8:08 a.m., Ridgewood Police Capt. Glenn Ender said. He was riding an electric bicycle when he collided with a vehicle on Ackerman Avenue near Lenox. Minor injuries were reported and he was not hospitalized. Then, at 8:27 a.m., a 24-year-old woman was struck at N. Maple Avenue and E. Ridgewood Avenue. She was taken to The Valley Hospital in Paramus with minor injuries, Ender said.

Teen Football Player Airlifted After Losing Feeling In Legs In Sussex County, Police Say A 13-year-old boy was airlifted to the hospital after he was injured playing football on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 21, in Sussex County authorities said. At 8:11 p.m., the boy was playing football at Station Park in Sparta Township when he temporarily lost feeling in his legs, Sparta Township Police Captain Thomas Snyder said.  An Atlantic Air helicopter transported the boy to Morristown Medical Center, Snyder said.  The young athlete regained feeling in both legs before the helicopter arrived, but was still hospitalized for for further evaluation, Snyder said.
