Tracking Major Mid-Week Winter Storm Set To Blast Region With Heavy Wind, Rain
A new winter storm on the heels of the last is set to blast the Northeast with heavy rain and winds, the National Weather Service said.
Monday, Jan. 8 will be sunny with a high in the mid-40s and Tuesday, Jan. 9 will be even warmer and breezy, with a high near 50, but with a chance of rain, the NWS said.
That rain is set to begin around 1 p.m., and will be accompanied by heavy winds as the day progresses, forecasters say. The NWS imposed a wind advisory beginning the evening of Jan. 9 for much of the Northeast.

Family Swept Away By Pennsylvania Flood Waters While Heading To BBQ In Weekend Tragedy
Authorities have identified the two missing children who were swept away in the Bucks County flash flood on Sunday, July 16.
Matilda Sheils, 2, and her brother Conrad Sheils, 9 months, were visiting the area with family from Charleston, South Carolina, Upper Makefield police say.
"They were on their way to a barbecue when their vehicles got caught in the flash flood on Rt. 532," authorities said.

Brace For Isolated Twisters, Flash Flooding Across NJ, Forecasters Say
Up to three inches of rain, flash flooding and damaging winds were expected Thursday across New Jersey.
A flash flood watch was in effect for Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex, Morris, Passaic, Somerset, Sussex, Union and Warren counties Thursday morning into Friday.
Severe thunderstorms with potential for isolated twisters were also possible, the National Weather Service says.
The main threat was expected midday Thursday into the early overnight hours, the NWS says.
Storms were, however, expected to move out quickly Friday.
