Crews Douse 2-Alarm Blaze In Sussex County (

Fire crews made quick work of a blaze that broke out in the basement of a Sussex County home Thursday evening. The fire was reported at 160 Mountain Rd. in Hardyston around 4:40 p.m., the local volunteer fire department said. Upon arrival, crews were met with heavy smoke and determined that an electrical fire was coming from the basement. Firefighters battled a blaze that blew through the roof of a Passaic home Tuesday afternoon. The fire broke out in a three-story wood-frame residence at the corner of High Street and Temple Place shortly after 2 p.m. It went from two alarms to three within minutes and then four alarms soon after. Firefighter Falls Through Floor In Hasbrouck Heights Blaze
A firefighter escaped serious injury when he fell through the second floor of a Hasbrouck Heights house during a Monday night blaze, responders said. The firefighter was hospitalized with what were characterized as minor injuries following the mayday call on Henry Street, they said. : Mahwah Firefighters Rush From Rockland Brush Blaze To Local House Fire
Mahwah firefighters were helping their colleagues from Hillburn, Sloatsburg and Tallan douse a brush fire in a remote wooded area of Rockland on Sunday when a house fire broke out nearby in town. The fire, which originated in the kitchen, was quickly knocked down, although it did cause some damage. Mutual aid was provided by firefighters from Ramsey, Franklin Lakes, Allendale, Saddle River, Upper Saddle River and Suffern. No injuries were reported. Easter Sunday Fire Severely Damages Little Ferry Home
UPDATE: No one was injured in an Easter Sunday fire that severely damaged a Little Ferry home. The two-alarm blaze broke out around 11 a.m. outside and extended up the side and through the attic of the 2½-story wood-frame Mariani Drive home, responders said. Little Ferry firefighters were joined by their colleagues from Hackensack, Hasbrouck Heights, Moonachie and South Hackensack. They had the fire knocked in 20 or so minutes.
