Dueling Winter Weather Predictions Released By Old, New Farmer's Almanacs
The Old Farmer's Almanac has released its winter weather predictions for the 2024-25 season. This year's title speaks for itself: "The 2025 Old Farmer’s Almanac Forecasts a 'Calmer, Gentler' Winter." The Old Farmer's Almanac touts 80 percent accuracy in its forecasts dating back to 1792. Last year, it predicted a winter wonderland. Parts of the forecast seem to contradict the predictions of the Farmer's Almanac, which predicts this winter will be a wet one with "above-normal amounts of winter precipitation and near-to above-normal temperatures" in the Northeast. Snow will be mos…

Old Farmer's Almanac Releases Outlook For Winter In Northeast
A brand-new forecast for the winter of 2022-23 is calling for a cold, snowy one. It's in the 231st edition of the Old Farmer's Almanac, which says it has an 80-percent accuracy rate with its weather forecasts. “Depending on where you live, this will be the best of winters or memorable for all the wrong reasons,” said Janice Stillman, editor of The Old Farmer’s Almanac. “One half of the country will deal with bone-chilling cold and loads of snow, while the other half may feel like winter never really arrives.” Most of the Northeast will see a “cold, snowy” winter, according to the almanac's…

Farmers' Almanac Releases Winter 2022-23 Predictions
While you were cooling off at the pool this week, the Farmers' Almanac released its predictions for Winter 2022-23. "A cold December and a very cold January might make readers in the Northeast shake and shiver," said the FA, who released its extended winter forecast on Wednesday, Aug. 3. Winter is expected to make an appearance much earlier this year than last, with December 2022 looking stormy — especially on the East Coast. The latter portion of January will be packed with snow in the east, followed by "what might be one of the coldest outbreaks of arctic air we have seen in several year…

Dueling Forecasts: New, Old Farmers' Almanacs Clash On Winter Weather Predictions
Want an early read on the weather outlook for the winter of 2020-21? The new and old Farmers' Almanacs have each released their winter weather forecasts -- and they're not exactly in agreement. One says the northeast will see a light winter while the other says cold and snowy. "If you love the cold of winter, you’re going to love our forecast if you live in the northern half of the country," the Farmers' Almanac said, noting a major blizzard the second week of February will be among several big storms in the area. “This storm may bring up to 1-2 feet of snow to cities from …
